No-Prerequisite required. 

 

The pre-assessment is not required for the CE-A course. However, a candidate must pass the CE-A pre-assessment if the candidate wishes to skip attending the CE-A course to take the CE-A exam.

Ciena Employee Certification Guidelines: 

  • Ciena Employees may self-enroll to take any certification exam and may obtain that certification pursuant to the "Certification Exam Path Guidelines" for that exam.
    1. Ciena Employees have two attempts to pass an exam 
      • If the employee passes the exam with a minimum score of 80%, the employee may download the certification certificate and is considered certified (subject to “Certification Exam Path Guidelines”)
      • If the employee fails both attempts to take the exam, the employee must attend that certification course before they may re-attempt the exam
        • (subsequent exams may be purchased at company cost with approval of management)
    2. Ciena Employees may skip attending an Associate level course and may take an Associate level certification exam if the Employee passes the Associate level pre-assessment exam with a score of 90% or above.
